Itinerary

Pancho Aréna Football Stadium

The Pancho Arena was built to serve as the home of Puskas Akademia, the youth team of Videoton.

Construction of the new stadium was championed by Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban, who grew up in the town of Felcsut, played for Puskas Akademia, and owns land next to the arena. This also led to criticism as the stadium was deemed excessive for the small village and allegations of corruption were made.

The Pancho Arena officially opened on 21 April 2014 with the Puskas Cup which was contested between Puskas Akademia and Real Madrid U-17. The stadium was designed by award-winning Hungarian architect Imre Makovecz and stands out by its remarkable wooden roof structure and exterior.

During the 2016-17 season, Videoton also played their home games at the stadium while their Sostoi Stadion was under construction.

In the stadium you can see the Ferenc Puskás Memorial and admire an incomparable collection of relics, olympic gold medals, photos, and football jersey of Puskás.

Nostalgia Train

The Vál Valley Light Railway is a 6 km long 760 mm gauge railway in Hungary. It is built on part of the Bicske–Székesfehérvár railway line.

You will take a 10 minute ride between Felcsút and Alcsútdoboz from where we will drive to Etyek Wine Region.

Etyek Wine Region

Located between the two mountains of Velence and Buda, EtyekBuda Wine Region covers an area of 5600 hectares but the vine plantation is about 1600 hectares nowdays. Vine growing and winemaking has always been the most important field of activity in the region since the 11th century.

The temperature is cooler than the average in the county, and there is a constant wind. Mostly white wines of high acidity are made here applying champagne method, sparkling wines and light, fresh wines in stainless steel barrels. The soil is limestone based, reach in minerals, covered by brown forest soils, suitable to grow white grape varietals like Olaszrizling, Chardonnay, Rhine Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Grüner Veltliner, and Sauvignon Blanc. Both the fresh, vigorous, aromatic wines, and the more complex ones – making in small and large oak barrels using the old tradition –, are extremely popular among wine lovers. Some
reds are made here, particularly Portugieser, Kadarka and Pinot Noir. Besides Törley – accounts for 70 percent of Hungary’s sparkling wine production –, there are some bigger and a lot of smaller wineries, mostly small family ones making handcrafted sparkling wines.
