In Budapest’s downtown it’s a real curioso, which offers you special soups in cool glasses, and they serve specific sandwich-compositions as well. Besides soups they have unique spiced baguettes, pastas and vegetable-dishes with fancy names. The restaurant is in the Kazinczy street, in the district seven, close to the Wesselényi street 4-6 tram’s stop, so it’s easy to find.

3. KOLBice

There are so many KOLBice restaurants and chalets next to busy stations. Their speciality is a horn made of bread pasta filled with different taste of sausage, sauce and other ingrediens. This special horn is made of glutenfree pasta, with unique spiced Hungarian, Italian and Bavarian sausage, crispy fried onion, Bavarian cabbage, cheese sauce egy bacon. Tourists always fall in love with this special food, so don’t hesitate to find the nearest foodtruck, restaurant or chalet of the chain. In the centre there are so many KOLBices, for example you can try these horns at Dohány Street or Arany János street station of metro line 3.

4. Lángosh

If you want to try some Hungarian street food, don’t hesitate to go to the Lángosh! This place is frequented in the Gozsdu-udvar – which is a famous garden with a lot of popular pubs, restaurants, and these are always full with tourists. And the important question: what is lángosh? This is a traditional food speciality in our country, a deep fried dough with toppings. It’s also traditionally made in Vojvodina in Serbie, where it was introduced by the local Hungarians! The dough for lángos is made of water or milk and flour, yeast, sugar and salt. People eat this fresh and warm, topped with sour cream, grated chese, ham or sausages. But the most popular one is only topped with garlic, or garlic butter. In the Lángosh you can try the special Hungarian version, too: with bacon, cheese, sour cream and purple onion. This place is found on the Király street, in downtown, on the line of tram 4-6.

Do you like the taste of churros and doughnuts? Then you will absolutely love the delicious Hungarian sweetness, the chimney cake! Its original name is ’kürtőskalács’, which is the official dessert of Hungary. This is like a delectable and sweet „bread”, is freshly baked to order with a crispy outside and a fluffy dough inside. It’s cylinder shaped, and of course you can find different taste of these sweetnesses as well, like vanilia, chocolate. But now, there are a lot of special ones, like filled chimney cakes. The perfect place for a try is the Street Cakes, where you can taste the most enticing ones. You can choose the plus toppings to your sweetness here, such as ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, fruit etc, and your ’kürtőskalács’ will have a fantastic look and taste. You can try the Bubble Waffle version here, too! The place is on the Andrássy street, close to the Oktogon station of the tram line 4-6.
