June 6-10

Beer Festival in Budapest City Centre

It offers a great opportunity for beer lovers to taste the best beers made in Hungary and in other countries as well. The beer fest is very popular, this year more than 21 thousands people are interested in this event. 250 beer specialities, tasting options, concerts, picnic atmoshere and food trucks will guarantee the funny time for the visitors between June 6-10. You can find the festival in Szabadság tér/Liberty square in district five. The admission is free!

June 13-16

Kolorado Festival

It will be held for the youth and adults in Nagykovácsi, close to Budapest. To get there it takes about 30 minutes from the centre. Besides the Hungarian musicians, international bands are also playing on the stages. The popular three-days festival is organized for the third time in Hungary. June 16-17

Hungarian Truck Fest

The roaring trucks return to Hungary with a huge festival, which is a big tradition nowadays. The European Truck Championship is a major international competition, which you can check on the Hungaroring, on the track of Mogyoród, next to Budapest. The two days event costs around 10.000 HUF, but now there is a 50 % discount on the website.

July 9-14

Rockmaraton Festival

This event is one of the oldest festivals of Hungary, which is held in Dunaújváros, Szalki-island. To get there, it takes about one hour by car from Budapest. This is the greatest festival for the lovers of rock music). Besides Hungarian bands, international and world-famous musicians are also playing on those stages! Mostly the age of 18-30 people appear there.

July 25-28

Fezen Festival

This summer festival is more and more popular as the years past. Székesfehérvár gives place to the festival – it is one of the biggest cities in Hungary, which you can find on the west side of the country. If you like pop and rock music, you will enjoy the party! Lots of Hungarian performancers and international bands will give a perfect and funny party!

August 8-15

Sziget Festival

Sziget is more than just a simple Hungarian festival! This is the place where you see your favourite bands, meet or make friends, fall in love, and the party goes on for a week. Sziget means Island, which is one of the largest music and cultural festivals in Hungary. This week-long festival is very famous in Europe too, and held in August on Old Buda Island in northern Budapest. More than 1000 performances take place each year! Especially the people in the age of 18-30 love this popular summer event, where all genre of music is played, like rock, pop, electronic, rollicking and Hungarian music! August 24-26.

Open Day and Night Festival in Szentendre

In the last weekend of the summer it will be held close to Budapest, in Szentendre. To get there it takes about half an hour by car. This festival will be full of art and gastronomic programmes. Art and craft exhibitions, galleries and various outdoor venues of the city will wait their visitors, but interactive and open-air workshops, theme walks, outdoor concerts, theater performances, film screenings, children’s playgrounds and light paintings will also be available.

September 6-9

Budapest Wine Festival

If you want to taste award-winning Hungarian wines, this is the best opportunity to try them! This big event is the most beautiful wine festival in Europe. Besides local wines, several foreign wine distributors exhibit their products. If you’re not a wine-lover, you will find something else that fits your interest! Cultural programmes, fine food, different concerts, children ‘s activities are waiting for the visitors. It will be held at the Buda Castle between September 6-9. The one-day ticket costs 3200 HUF, but you can pay a 4-day pass as well.

September 14-16

Sweet Days Chocolate Festival

It’s a great family program, but not just for the lovers of chocolate! You can taste not only chocolates, but cakes and desserts, donuts, the Hungarian speciality, the chimney cake ( kürtőskalács ) , special wines, coffees, palinkas made of different fruits and try some street food bars! The event moves to a new location: it is held in Szent István Square in front of the Basilica and Zrínyi Street in the city centre. We have good news for you: the admission is free.

October 4-7

OktoberFest Budapest

After the Czech and Belgian Beer Festivals our city gets its own Oktoberfest, which is located in Kincsem Park – in the horse race venue -, in district ten. During this four days besides the best craft beers from Hungary and other countries, you can try great food, enjoy the cultural and children programmes, and horse racing as well! There will be a lot of concerts: Hungarian performers, bands and DJ-s will give great parties there. The daily ticket is 1990 HUF, but there is opportunity to buy 4-day pass, too.

2018 October 12-14

Chimney Cake Festival

This new gastro festival introduces everything about the special, sweet, spiral-shaped chimney cake, which is a traditional sweetness. Its Hungarian name is kürtőskalács. You can find a lot of type of chimney cakes with various toppings. For the kids there will be drawing contests and magic shows, while the adults can enjoy the baking contests and a lots of live music. The festival’s place will be the City Park, in the Vajdahunyad Castle.
